Patna Pirates registers their first win by defeating Dabang Delhi with figurews 37-33. It is their first win in the tournament so far. This an perfect example to show that no team can be underestimated in this league. As their first victory came out by defeating no less than the table toppers delhi, the team has geared up for performing beyond expectations.
Special Highlights From The Match
Lets’s start with mentioning of what happened in the second half of the match? The credit goes to exceptional play of star performers Chiyaneh and Rohit Gulia. While the Gulia’s raids were annoying Delhi to stay behind during the match, Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh’s 3 points helped Pirates to sail across the winning line.
The game was all about a high fire action and recorded many moments which were breathtaking for both the supporters of Pirates as well as Delhi. In the first half of the game, captain of Dabang Delhi Naveen Kumar took out Chiyaneh who is the great wall for Patna’s defence.
A few moments later, Pirates got another setback when Sachin was also caught out by Dabang Delhi team, leaving the team on the verge of all out. Then came the Super Raid of Rohit Gulia, which has helped Pirates to stand equal with the Delhi.
It was an unexpected comeback that lasted much longer enough to completely stun Delhi. They immediately discovered themselves looking at the bottom of the barrel as Naveen got caught early and the only 2 persons left on the mat were Manjeet and Krishan.
With special efforts of Manjeet and Kishan, Dabang Delhi got back in the game with the small lead as well. Another Breathtaking moment arrived when Ashu Malik’s super raid makes Neeraj Kumar, Sunil and Manish (all three of them) drawing them wide in the front.
Delhi then went on to register first All Out of the game and secured a comfortable positon with a lead of 30-12. The second half which has mentioned above is dedicated to exceptional game play of the Patna Squad.
However, despite with strong resistance of the Delhi to keep the game alive, Pirates make them all out at the end and level the game at 24-24. Patna then shattered all the srategies as well as defensive moves of Dabang Delhi.
What’s Next
Now the pirates got ther first victory of the PKL Season 9. The team is filled with energy to make them to the top of the table. In addition to this, their next match is scheduled with Bengaluru on the occasion of Diwali.
