Patna Pirates has secured its third consecutive and fourth overall win in the 8th season of the Vivo Pro Kabaddi League. The match held on Monday 3rd January 2022 at the Sheraton Grand Whitefield Bengaluru was against Telugu Titans, and Patna Pirates indeed left no stone unturned to ensure a matchless win. The collective effort of the team has exceptionally made them win four out of five matches in the PK League season 8. Talking about their match against Telugu Titans, Monu Goyat successfully managed to gain 7 points in total while Sachin collected 6 points, both helping the team to secure their win over a closely competed match.
Without any doubt, Telugu Titans tried and performed their best at contending with their competitors. And, that is exactly why the match became interesting as both the teams were not ready to lose. The star raider of Patna Pirates, Sachin displayed a worth-watch performance in the last moment that helped his team defeat Telugu Titans with close points of 31-30 in the latest season of Vivo Pro Kabaddi League.
There was a moment when Telugu Titans’ Ankit Beniwal managed to pick up a point in the dying phase of the match and they must have assumed it was going to be a tie. However, the smartness of Patna Pirates’ Sachin kept him calm as he was looking for a moment to secure all five points in his final raid. The performance of Ankit Beniwal was also commendable as he scored a Super 10.
During the first half, the match seemed to belong to Patna Pirates as its star raiders Prashanth Kumar Rai and Sachin were both picking up easy points. Creating pure magic on the grounds, Prashanth made a dubki move that led to a super raid of 3-points during the 5th minute of the match. And, this indeed shifted the winning inclination towards the Patna team. The three-time consecutive winners of PKL ensured to waste no time and wreaked havoc in the match with the game’s first all-out in just 10 minutes, opening a five-point lead. Not just Sachin and Prashant but the rest of the team was also spending a good time throughout the first half. Sajin C and Mohammadreza Chiyaneh maintained stability as the raiders of Telugu Titans were struggling to find any opportunity. Also, as Siddharth Desai was missing in their team, the pressure of scoring well was on the young raiders Rakesh Gowda and Ankit Beniwal. However, they still failed to match the teamwork of the defense of the Patna Pirates, and the first half ended with Pirates in the lead with a point differential of 18-13.
The match took an enthralling turn in the second half as the Telugu Titans were not ready to give up as they saw potential & motivation in their defense. Gradually, the raiders of Titans managed to cause an all-out of the Pirates in the 8th minute of the second half. Ankit Beniwal further made it to a 3-point super raid with the last 7-8 minutes left to match the score 24-24. However, Monu Goyat came up to show his talent & capability by confirming a super tackle in the last 4-5 minutes. It gave the Pirates a chance to secure their win. But Telugu Titans further closed their way as Ankit matched the level with the last raid remaining in the last few minutes. This is when the match got super interesting as Sachin came up to seize the misstep by Sandeep Kandola in the Titans’ left corner, ensuring the win for Patna Pirates.
