After Playing Eight Thrilling Matches, Patna Pirates Reaches the Top of Points Table

Patna Pirates has been playing exceptionally throughout the PKL matches of season 8. And after thrilling the audience with eight worth the watch games, Patna Pirates has proved its potency by making its place on the top of the points table. This happened when the Pirates played the match against U Mumba on 11th January and won from a gigantic point difference by marking its lead with 43-23. 

The team has without any doubt given a stellar display of its strength throughout the season. Another notable fact is that the Pirates have only lost one match and have maintained an unbeaten streak of 6 and the winning streaks of 3 and 2. And, now by winning a justifiable match against U Mumba, the commendable and fresh team of Patna Pirates has claimed its place on the top of this season’s points table. 

After Patna Pirates released Pardeep Narwal, all the fans and viewers were skeptical about the team’s performance in Season 8 of the Pro Kabaddi League. However, after a very praiseworthy performance by the whole team throughout the matches until now, makes us remember the perspective of Coach Ram Meher Singh where he was confident that the team will perform well. Although he was sad about not being able to sign Pardeep Narwal back into the team, Singh certainly guaranteed that the strategies of this season are going to be different and bring colors & victory to the team. 

The journey of Patna Pirates in season 8 commenced with an amazing game played by Monu Goyat with a 15 point display of perfection at his moves. Not just Monu Goyat but Rohit Gulia too finished the game with a Super 10. The team won the match with a lead of 42-39. Moving ahead, the second match was an unfortunate game for the Pirates as it brought the teams first and the only loss of the season. The match was also a bit emotional for the fans of Patna Pirates and Pardeep Narwal, as both had to play the match against each other. However, the first match Pirates lost this season was against UP Yoddha with 35-36. The next game of the team was against Puneri Paltan and Sachin showed a spectacular performance, making the team win with a large 12 point difference. The match ended with the score of 38-26. This marked the beginning of an unbeaten streak for the Pirates as it further won the next game. The match was against Bengal Warriors and Monu Goyat did it again by finishing the night by collecting a total of 15 points. Patna Pirates and Bengal Warriors ended the game with a score of 44-30. The following match held on 3rd January was against Telugu Titans, and Sachin again saved the day from the team by escaping a tackle and collecting a winning point for his team. This match ended with a thrilling score of 31-30. After continuing a winning streak of 3, the team played another exhilarating match against Tamil Thalaivas. The game represented both the team’s will to give their best and refusal to lose, making it end with a tie of 30-30. 

The next game was another exciting game that kept the viewers confused as to who is going to win the match. However, the stellar performance by the captain in an attempt to win a bonus point and ending up with a winning point made the team continue its unbeaten streak. Moving ahead, the match between Patna Pirates and U Mumba played on 11th January represented the team’s will to reclaim themselves as the title champions. 

While Prashanth Kumar Rai and Sachin came together to score a total of 14 raid points, Vice-Captain Neeraj and Mohammadreza collected High 5s for Patna Pirates. 

The best part is that the whole team gave their best to win the thrilling match with a great difference of 20 points. The Pirates handed U Mumba their second defeat of the season and made its space on the top of the table with a commendable score of 43-23.
