A Tough Night for Patna Pirates: Haryana Steelers Prove Their Mettle

The Haryana Steelers and Patna Pirates played an exciting match at the Balewadi Sports Complex’s badminton hall in Pune on Friday night. The intense match was filled with raw emotions, exceptional performances, and relentless efforts from both sides.  But the Haryana Steelers prevailed 42-36, demonstrating their supremacy in the eleventh season of the Pro Kabaddi League. Shivam Patare, Mohammadreza Shadloui, and Patna Pirates’ star raider, Devank, all gave outstanding efforts during the wild game.

First Half: Patna Pirates Take the Lead

With both teams keen to outsmart one another, the game got off to a fast start. Early on, the game was close between the Patna Pirates, who were led by the highly effective Devank, and the Haryana Steelers, who had Shivam Patare and Mohammadreza Shadloui at the forefront of their attack. Because of Devank and Ankit’s strategic raids, the Patna Pirates were able to gain a slight advantage halfway through the half. With the help of Navdeep and Ankit, Devank gave the Haryana Steelers an All-Out, giving them a vital 4-point lead. Their cooperation paid off. A thrilling second half was anticipated as the Patna  Pirates led 17–16 at the break, a slim edge going into intermission.

Second Half: Haryana Steelers Roar Back

Devank kept up his impressive play in the second half, scoring his 200th raid point of the year and getting closer to another Super 10. But the Haryana Steelers soon got back together. They were able to cut the gap to just one point with the help of Shivam Patare’s spectacular Super Raid and a well-coordinated All-Out from their defense. Devank’s incredible three-point raid turned the game into a suspenseful match, but Mohammadreza Shadloui’s pivotal Super Tackle earned him a High 5. As the Haryana Steelers strengthened their hold on the game, the momentum started to change.

In the last ten minutes, Shivam Patare completed his Super 10 performance, putting his team ahead by seven points and leading them to another All-Out. The Haryana Steelers increased the pressure in the final minutes, dominating the Patna Pirates to win by a significant margin.
