Patna Pirates Show Fighting Spirit in Narrow Loss to Bengaluru Bulls

In a hard-fought battle at the Vishwanadh Sports Club in Vizag, the Patna Pirates went down 30-38 against the Bengaluru Bulls in their Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 clash. While the result didn’t go the Patna Pirates’ way, the contest was filled with determination, grit, and moments of brilliance , most notably Ayan Lohchab’s Super 10, which once again highlighted the young raider’s growing influence.

Start and Early Edge

Both teams began cautiously, with defenses holding firm in the opening exchanges. The Patna Pirates edged ahead 8–6 by the 10-minute mark, thanks to tight tackling from Deepak Rathee and Sanket Sawant, who combined well to frustrate Bengaluru’s raiders.

Ayan Lohchab, in fine touch, chipped in with crucial points to give Patna an early advantage. On the other side, Bengaluru’s Ganesha Hanamantagol looked lively but was contained at key moments, including a timely tackle from Sawant that stalled the Bulls’ momentum.

First-Half Momentum Swings

Midway through the half, Ayan produced a moment of magic with a decisive raid that dismissed Sanjay Dhull and Jitender Yadav, inflicting an ALL OUT on Bengaluru Bulls and swinging momentum firmly in Patna’s favour.

However, the Bulls regrouped quickly. With Alireza Mirzaian and Aashish Malik stepping up, they responded with an ALL OUT of their own. Sanjay’s defensive strength further tilted the balance, and at halftime, Bengaluru Bulls led 19–15 despite the Patna Pirates’ strong start.

Second-Half Fightback

The Patna Pirates came out fighting after the break. Sudhakar’s sharp raid, sending Yogesh and Satyappa off the mat, gave Patna a timely boost. Ayan continued to shine under pressure, dismissing Yogesh and keeping the Patna Pirates within striking distance.

But Bengaluru’s composure told. Alireza delivered in crucial moments, including a Do-Or-Die raid that sent Deepak and Sanket out. The Patna Pirates kept pressing, but the Bulls maintained a slender 24–21 lead heading into the final 10 minutes.

Final Push and Decisive Moments

In the closing stages, the Patna Pirates threw everything at the Bulls. But a late ALL OUT inflicted on Patna stretched the deficit, leaving little time for a comeback. Alireza completed his Super 10 with a final successful raid, sealing the result for Bengaluru.

Despite the setback, the Patna Pirates’ spirit never wavered. With Ayan’s Super 10, Sudhakar’s raiding spark, and determined defensive contributions from Deepak and Sawant, the team showed plenty of positives to carry forward.
