Patna Pirates have successfully clinched their 2nd title of the PKL Season 9 on 29th October,2022. Fierecing Pirates have defeated UP Yoddhas by 34-29 in a thrilling encounter at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex.
Both halves were nail-biting for all the fans as well as team members. However, the defense part of the pirates proved tough for the raiders of Yoddhas. The defenders of the Pirates were successful in restricting UP’s key strikers Pradeep Narwal and Surender Gill. at every moment of the game, both teams were fighting hard enough to earn a single point. However, before the first break, the Pirates took a lead of 2 points by scoring 13-11 against Yoddhas.
The next nail-biting moment came into the second half, 4 minutes after the first break. It was when Sachin does consecutive successful raids to bring Yodhhas on the verge of an all-out. In addition to this, Patna’s star player Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh gives a brilliant tackle to Gill to earn a valuable point. That’s how the Pirates were able to register their first all-out of the game and take their lead to 19-11.
Then came another twist in the game. Yoddhas struck back hard with Narwal executing one of the finest raids of this season so far, eliminating 5 players of the Patna Pirates. These five players were – Sunil, Chiyaneh, Rohit, Gulia, Sachin, and lastly Manish. This particular moment put Yoddhas back in the game. Since then, Yodhhas had faced second all out with the scoreboard as 23-21.
On the other hand, the Pirates had gone extra cautious about winning the game. However, the last minutes of games were absolute thrillers. While Rohit Tomar took a super raid on Sachin to keep his team alive and leveled with Pirates. Sachin from the Pirates shines toward the end of the second half. With just twenty seconds left, Sachin pulled off a Super Raid to conclude the second all-out of the game for Yoddhas to win their second game.
As per the key stats, Sachin was the top performer from the winning side with 10 raids to his account. The second person to him was Rohit Gulia with 3 raids and a total of 7 points for his team. Similarly, with 4 all-out points scored by the Patna Pirates in response to 2, they were able to achieve the victory with winning figures of 34.

With this hard-fought victory, Pirates are filled with tremendous energy to face their next enemy. They are likely to face Gujrat on 31st October and U Mumba on 4th November (Friday) respectively at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Wrestling Hall.
