Pardeep Narwal and Jaideep Sharma are well-known names for anyone who has been an enthusiastic Pro Kabaddi league seasons spectator. What Kohli and Dhoni are to the Indian cricket team, Pardeep Narwal and Jaideep Sharma are to the Patna Pirates kabaddi team.
Pardeep Narwal has added many milestones and records in the past seasons of the Pro Kabaddi league. He is the one who has been in the Patna Pirates team from the very beginning and is the heart and soul of the team. He is famous for his defending trick known as ‘dubki’ in which he just ducks and dive and disappears in a way difficult for the defender to attack him.
The captain of the Patna Pirates team, Pardeep Narwal is rightly a Pirates’ Pillar who kept the ship sailing during the last season of PKL. He was awarded the Best Raider Award even though the team could not make it to the playoffs in season 6. He earned a total of 233 raids point in the season on his own and has been confiscating this title of Best Raider from the past three years consecutively. Not only this, the season 6 of PKL for Pardeep Narwal was all about setting and breaking new records. He was regarded as the second ever player to reach total points of 800 in the Vivo Pro Kabaddi league history. Also, he bagged the award to cross the 850 raider points mark in the league.
The good news is that the Patna pirates have managed to keep their key player Pardeep Narwal in the team for the Pro Kabaddi season 7 too. We can’t wait for the action to unfold again. Patna Pirates has always been on the dominating side in the whole league because of its star players like Pardeep Narwal and Jaideep Sharma. What this season has in store for Patna Pirates is what’s making us go crazy. Isn’t it?
Jaideep Sharma is another player who gives a nail-biting performance in every game. It is for him that the audience is glued to the matches of the Patna pirates. Left corner defender, Jaideep Sharma needs no former introduction as he is known as the best defender who gives spectacular performance each season.
Jaideep has gained much in a short period of time. This jersey no. 8 player first became part of the Patna Pirates team as a result of 2017 auction where he was bought for 70 lacs to become part of the Patna Pirates. In the last two seasons, he has performed magnificently and hasn’t looked back since then. Making his debut for the team in the season 5, he came as lighting bolt in the season 6 and has become a true Pirate Pillar since then. He is someone in the team other players feel thankful for.
In season 5, he played a total of 26 matches and managed to collect 71 tackle points, making to the list of top 5 defenders of the season. That was indeed too good for a start and the team even end up lifting the championship for the season.
The next season for Jaideep did not turn out so good. However, in season 6 he was able to collect a total of 58 tackle points and made to the top 10 defenders list of the season. But hold on that’s not the end of the story.
He was given the charge of captainship in the absence of Pardeep Narwal in one of the matches with Bengal Warriors. With his brilliance and way to fight off the raider and the ninja techniques he uses to hold down the player makes the spectators go in awe of him. His signature ankle hold technique is a technique other players try to exhibit in their performance.
It will be really befitting to watch how both the Pirates’ Pillars perform in the coming season of the Vivo Pro Kabaddi league starting from the 20th of July, 2019. We are actually excited how things will turn out for Patna Pirates this season when their two-star players who hold such an aura and prestige are out there on the kabaddi court showing off their killer moves.
