Pre season team analysis of Patna Pirates

The pro kabaddi season 7 is on its way and its time to know how strong is your favourite team this season. Is your team all geared up for this season? To find this out here is a pre season team analysis of Patna Pirates.

Patna pirates have a spectacular history in the past seasons of pro kabaddi league. The three-time champions could not grab the title in the last season but still continue to be a major influencing team of the pro kabaddi league. With Pardeep Narwal still holding the oars of the Patna Pirates tight, this season would no less fun for Patna Pirates. Apart from this, Patna pirates also managed to retain their old champion players like Jawahar Dagar who is a right corner defender, Vikas Jaglan who is an all-rounder and the all-time favourite player Jaideep who is a left corner defender.

In short, the auction of the current season which was held at 8th and 9th of April went pretty satisfying for the Patna Pirates. The management managed to get the young and experienced players on the team which lacked last season.

Performance of Patna Pirates in last seasons

As mentioned, Patna Pirates has always been at the top of the board of the league despite the players joining and leaving. The Patna Pirates won the Pro Kabaddi League season 3, 4 and 5 consecutively. They were the runner ups in the first season after defeating Bengaluru Bulls.

The team has the presence of Rakesh Kumar for the first two seasons who was the former caption of Indian Kabaddi team. Thereafter the responsibility of guiding the team fell on the hands of Manpreet Singh as Rakesh shifted to U Mumba in the third season and actually ended up winning not only that season but two more seasons thereafter. The heart of the team Pardeep Narwal has been part of the team all the seasons.

In the sixth season, the Patna Pirates saw lack of teamwork on part of the players and however hard the major players tried they couldn’t save the ship from drowning.

Pro Kabaddi League Season 7 Auction:

This year auction saw some good decisions on the part of the bidding team of Patna Pirates. They were successful in retaining their master players before the bid and also brought back some of the past players of the team with the outcome of the bid. Also, they now have Jang Kun Lee in the team in just 40 lakhs. They also bought Irani Mohammad Maghsoudlou, Hadi Ostorak, Surendra Nada and Neeraj Kumar into the team.

In all the team looks strong and worthy but still, there are few drawbacks of the team that other team can take advantage of. The team lacks in the raiding department and have just two raiders in the team that to both the right raiders.

Like last year, the team lacks the presence of experienced right corner defenders but with Surender Nada and Jaideep, left corner defenders, in the team, it would be hard for the opponents to score points. Not buying on focusing the same in the current season can prove to be a bit risky for them.

However, Hadi can act as a knight in shining armour for the team with his phenomenal raiding and defending skills. The playing 7 players of the squad looks promising and competent. So, let’s just hope that Pardeep Narwal and his squad put the best foot forward and once again claim the PKL crown.

The Vivo pro kabaddi league season 7 starts on 20th of July, 2019. So don’t forget to witness the breathtaking performances of your favourite team.
